Summary:
The Automation Technician is responsible for installing and repairing electrical systems, apparatus and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
(Includes the following, other duties may be assigned.
) Troubleshoot / enhance PLC code and HMI screens created by others.
Troubleshoot, calibrate, and replace process instrumentation including sensors for flow, temperature, and pressure.
Troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair robotics including software and hardware interfaces Troubleshoot / repair loop control circuits.
Troubleshoot / repair AC/DC motor and/or control circuits.
Troubleshoot / repair motor starter and VFD controlled motors Troubleshoot / repair industrial communication networks including:
Remote I/O, DeviceNet, and Ethernet I/P networks Program, install and collect data from digital camera inspection systems Ability to program and design effective software programs to liaise with automated inspection systems Apply engineering principals to analyze and solve difficult production and processing problems.
Utilizing continuous improvement mind-set, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
Follow all required work safe practices.
This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong knowledge of computer networks.
Ability to work on multiple tasks and projects Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Attain and maintain required certifications Education and/or
Experience:
High School Diploma or GED preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
